Jack Brill left behind a thirty-year engineering career to enter SRI as a way to combine his passion for peace with investing. The last 17 years were as Director of Quality Assurance for the U.S. Navy's San Diego contracting office. Frustrated with daily moral compromises and excessive military buildup, he resigned that position in 1985.
As co-author of Investing From the Heart (Crown 1992) and Investing with Your Values (Bloomberg 1999, New Society Press 2000), Jack has become one of the most recognized spokespersons for SRI. From 1993 through 2000 he was featured quarterly in the New York Times mutual fund study, where his portfolio of socially screened mutual funds ranked amongst the top performers. He is a financial advisor and lives with his wife Sandra in San Luis Obispo, California. |
