Natural Investments is a national portfolio management firm, with offices in Paonia, Colorado, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, Port Townsend, Washington, Portland, Oregon and in Windsor and San Luis Obispo, California. We're an innovative, client-focused company, with a high level of personal attention and individualized service. We combine our progressive passion with fiscal prudence, and through our affiliations with Charles Schwab & Co, Black Diamond Performance Reporting, and the Social Investment Forum, provide our clients with strong research and solid administration.

As an independent investment adviser registered with the SEC, we work on a fee-only basis. With no commissions and no allegiance to large financial services companies, we have no conflicts of interest; our interest is in giving you the best possible advice for your situation.

Natural Investments has been at the forefront of the socially responsible investment world for over 20 years. We literally wrote the book (or books) on socially responsible investing: Investing From the Heart in 1992 and Investing with your Values in 2000. For fifteen years, we've published the only rating system that monitors the social performance of mutual funds, the NI Social Rating^SM .

Our Colorado office is powered by wind energy and our Northern California and Hawaii offices by solar photovoltaic. Christopher has long history with natural investing, beginning as an investor in Working Assets mutual funds in 1987 while still in college. In 1998 he became an investment advisor, opening his own firm, Holistic Solutions, to teach classes in holistic financial planning and advise clients on all areas of sustainable personal finance. He joined Natural Investment Services in 2004 and in 2007, he, Hal and Michael joined forces as equal owners and managing directors in the re-named Natural Investments LLC.

Steeping in the majestic landscapes and progressive culture of the Pacific Northwest, it was easy for James to fall in love with nature and the sustainable lifestyles that help preserve it. Coupled with a degree in finance and 15 years of experience in the investment industry, he is passionate about putting his unique skills and insights to work for clients.

Malaika Maphalala is passionate about effecting positive change for the earth and its human and natural communities.  Joining Natural Investments LLC is the current culmination of her life-long journey of contributing to the creation of a sustainable future.  For the past ten years, Malaika has shared her talents in non-profit administration and within community arts organizations in Hawaii.
